I grew up in Delaware and attended the University of Greensboro, NC. I transferred to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and graduated summa cum laude with my Bachelor of Science degree in Education. The following year I graduated cum laude with a Master of Science degree in Education. In addition to my special education certification, I am certified to teach general education, and gifted endorsed. I have been working in Chatham County for 10 years. I began teaching in 2003 as an itinerant teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing working with students in grades K-12 throughout the county. Three years later I began teaching at Hesse Elementary as a self-contained teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing. In 2007, I switched from special education to general education and began teaching 2nd grade at Hesse. In 2008, I moved from 2nd grade to kindergarten at Hesse. In 2009, I began teaching 5th grade gifted and general education students at Hesse. I had the pleasure of being selected to join the group of teachers selected for the opening of Godley Station School in 2010. I began at Godley Station as grade chair of the 1st grade team. The following year, I moved back to 5th grade. All of my students met and many exceeded the standard for the math, ELA, and reading sections of the CRCT. I proudly joined the staff at Garrison School of the Performing Arts in 2012. I am passionate about teaching and love working with children of all ages and ability levels. I have two beautiful daughters, Memphis and Nala. Both of my children attend Garrison. We have three adorable dogs: Lucy our Cockapoo, Jewel our Shih-poo, and our loving mutt, Luna. In my leisure I like to take my girls downtown for long walks or to play in the fountains. I have a strong love of the outdoors particularly camping and hiking. I met my husband three years after moving to Savannah. My husband and I were married in 2006 on Tybee Island beach. We enjoy spending time together as a family on the weekends!
