Some teachers use 55% or 60% as the lowest possible grade to enter in their gradebook, but there is no policy that requires teachers to use these averages as zero baselines. Grade Reports & Parent Notification Students receive four report cards a year, one after each nine week period. You will also receive four midterm reports. Special needs students will receive progress reports at least as often as the general education students. What is PowerSchool Parents and guardians of students enrolled in Savannah-Chatham County Public Elementary Schools can view their child’s academic progress through PowerSchool, the District’s student information system. PowerSchool is used to view student attendance, grades, transcripts, report cards and more. PowerSchool brings together teachers, students, parents and administrators in an easy to use web-based data system that provides real-time information over the Internet. Connecting the Home and the School Recent studies have shown that parental involvement is critical to student learning achievement. PowerSchool was the first web-based student information system to recognize the importance of connecting the home with the school and offer an external interface to parents and students. How to Register Parents and guardians are provided with an account that includes a username and password specific to each child. You must visit the school office where your student is enrolled during regular school hours and pick up your account information. To protect the confidentiality of a student's information, a photo ID such as a driver’s license will be required. We will not give out account information over the telephone, through e-mail or by U.S. mail. Account information will be distributed by the school’s information specialist.
Once registration is complete, log into PowerSchool to view your student's records This district wide tool will allow you to view grades, absences, tardies, and discipline. As a parent, you will have access to view your child’s assignments. You will be able to view homework that has been turned in and homework assignments that have not been turned in by your child. You also have the ability to communicate with your child’s teachers and review any messages posted daily. This will enable you to monitor your child’s academic progress and daily attendance in the classroom.
To access your child’s information on Parent Access, you will need to log into PowerSchool from the school district homepage at www.sccpss.com. Next, you must click on the following tabs: Family, PowerSchool Parent Access, PowerSchool, and Create Account. You will be prompted to log in after creating your account.
You have been assigned a parent/guardian identification and password. To retrieve your log-in identification and password, you MUST come to Godley Station School to receive your information and your signature is required. This requirement is to ensure your child’s information is confidential. This information cannot and will not be sent home with your child.
